AMARA – Advancing Migrant and Refugee Women’s Access to the Nordic Labor Market Focusing on Entry Level Jobs
AMARA aims to identify and address the barriers faced by women with migrant or refugee backgrounds who hold medium to long higher education degrees when trying to access, advance in, and thrive in jobs within large companies across the Nordic region.
Based on the mapping of barriers, the project will develop policy recommendations and easy-to-read guides for companies and job centers to help them better identify and effectively utilize women’s skills and qualifications. At the same time, the project will contribute to building a long-term pipeline of diverse talents, thereby promoting more inclusive workplaces across the Nordic region.
The project is a collaboration between W.O.M.E.N (Iceland), Startup Refugees (Finland), Diversify (Norway), and Foreningen Lige Adgang, and is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Opportunities for Participation and Collaboration
- Those Interested can attend the dissemination seminar on 4 December from 9:00-12:30, where the policy recommendations and easy-to-read guides will be launched.
