Smooth transitions from FGU to EUD

With support from TrygFonden, the project Smooth Transitions from FGU to EUD is carried out from January 2025 to July 2028. The project aims to create better conditions for FGU students to ensure a safe and confident transition into further education and life.

Many young people face challenges such as uncertainty, low self-confidence, or a lack of clarity about their options. Here, a mentor can make a crucial difference. With a business mentor by their side, young people receive support to clarify their choices, find direction, and strengthen their belief in their own abilities.

For FGU Students

As an FGU student, you can be matched with a business mentor who will support you over a six-month period. Your mentor can help you with:

• gaining an overview of your options,
• becoming more confident about what you want,
• strengthening your motivation to continue your education.

For Mentors and Companies

As a mentor or company, you have a unique opportunity to make a real difference for young people facing important life choices. Your experience and commitment can be the key to helping a student find direction, motivation, and the confidence to begin an education or enter the workforce.

• as a mentor you’ll have the opportunity to be a personal sparring partner for a young person. Your experience and commitment can provide the support that gives a student the courage to take the next step.
• as a company you can share your knowledge of the labor market and help show young people how their skills can be put into use.

Documented Impact

The project builds on Lige Adgang’s many years of experience with mentorship programs. Evaluations show that these mentorships make a real difference:

• Most students experience increased self-confidence and greater clarity about their future.
• Many gain the confidence to continue their education.
• Support from a mentor provides a sense of security and motivation during an important transition phase.
